About Us
We are committed to producing natural, unfiltered wines. Our four-hectare vineyard is cultivated using environmentally friendly methods. Most of our wines are made by skin maceration, without filtration, clarification, added sulfur, or commercial yeast.
The winery is located in Episcopia while 3 hectares of vineyards are found among the hills. Some lie along the shores of Lake Siter, and others are on the unique southern slopes of Tăutelec. One hectare is a recent plantation. An additional hectare is located in Diosig, perhaps the most well-known village in Érmellék. Our main grape varieties The Lady of Wines, Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Italian Riesling, Bakator, Fetească Neagră, and Blaufränkisch (Kékfrankos).
Written records confirm grape cultivation in this area since the 13th century. The winery has housed the wines of the Csáki family for centuries. In the past, the surrounding hills were planted with vineyards, and Episcopia was considered a wine trading center.
Wines from these cellars once supplied the nearby cities of Oradea and Debrecen. Today, Episcopia is almost unrecognizable from how it looked at the beginning of the last century, shaped by the dedication of local farmers and their work in viticulture and winemaking. Similarly, the vast vineyards that once thrived on the hills north of Oradea have now vanished without a trace.
In both viticulture and winemaking, we seek harmony with God and nature.
A natural wine needs nothing added, and thus lacks nothing. We believe that nature, care, hard work, and spirit can only be expressed in wine if one has patience. A wine may take months, even years, to mature before being bottled.
Our mission is to help Érmellék regain its long-lost and well-deserved reputation.
